Reformed Confessional culture in North and Baltic Sea regions

At the centre of this collaborative project was the question of whether a specific profile of Reformed confessional culture can be determined in view of the plurality of early modern Reformed confessions. This question was investigated along central fields of interaction in which possible confessional influences were expected: Cultures of knowledge and economics were given just as much attention as aesthetic and political-legal cultures, which, with a focus on the North and Baltic Sea regions, were each illuminated by international-interdisciplinary conferences. The role of pluralisation-dynamic differences and conflicts in the intra- and inter-confessional area for the definition of what could possibly be described as a "reformed confessional culture" was also questioned.

One goal was the development of a comprehensive international digital edition project of relevant source corpora, whereby the cooperation project also had a component in the field of digital historical research/digital humanities. For this reason, the aforementioned conferences also served as an interdisciplinary review of the sources to be digitally edited.

The project was realised in cooperation between the Johannes a Lasco Library (JaLB) in Emden and the IEG; PD Dr Kestutis Daugirdas for the JaLB and PD Dr Christian V. Witt for the IEG were responsible for the implementation.
