IEG activities in the "Leibniz ScienceCampus – Byzantium between Orient and Occident – Mainz / Frankfurt"

The ScienceCampus Mainz / Frankfurt thus promotes the integration of all those disciplines that deal primarily or in partial areas or selected perspectives with Byzantium. It enables topic-oriented, multidisciplinary research under one roof and improves the visibility of Byzantium research, also in terms of historical, and cultural studies.
The IEG is on the board of the WissenschaftsCampus through Nicole Reinhardt, and through Mihai D. Grigore, and Denise Klein, represented as regular members. Their main research areas are integrated into Thematic Area 2 "Effects of Contact and Exchange in the Euro-Mediterranean": Mihai D. Grigore with his research on mobile monastic actors in Wallachia and Moldova between the 14th and 17th centuries as well es Denise Klein with her project "Istanbul: City of Migrants, 1453–1800.
