Religious Settlements and the Communication of Theological Experts
The project was dedicated to the expert activities of theologians in the context of early modern religious peace. The focus was on the indexing and processing of the faculty opinions of Lutheran theologians for the purpose of shaping the framework orders created by the religious peace between the late 16th and early 18th centuries. In their opinions, the Lutheran academic elites advised those responsible for religious administration on the ground on the elaboration of practical arrangements of confessional and religious coexistence. The project has contoured the role of the theological elites as actors in confessional politics and reconstructed their contribution to the lasting stabilisation of ecclesiastical and social practice under conditions of confessional or religious plurality. Christopher Voigt-Goy was the principal investigator of the project.
