Since 2011, the IEG participates in the national infrastructure project DARIAH-DE while focusing on different activities. DARIAH-DE supports digital methods and tools in the arts and humanities. As a partner in DARIAH-EU, DARIAH-DE contributes to foster and connect state-of-the-art activities in the digital humanities on a European level (source: Steckbrief DARIAH-DE). From 2011 to 2019, the project has been part-funded by the German Federal Ministry for Education and Research (Bundesministerium für Bildung und Forschung – BMBF). Collaborating with 15 associated institutions, the IEG is committed to the sustainable operation and sustainability of DARIAH-DE within the framework of an operational cooperation agreement.. From 2019 until 2021, the two research infrastructures DARIAH-DE and CLARIN-DE will be merged into the joint undertaking CLARIAH-DE. Thus, researchers from the humanities and cultural studies will have an easier access to complex digital tools and specialised databases for their academic work (source: the official website of CLARIAH-DE). Within this framework, the IEG contributes to the  operating and further development of the infrastructure through dissemination and advanced trainings in Digital Humanities.
