We are delighted to welcome Dr Manuel Francisco Fernández Chaves

We are pleased to welcome Dr. Manuel Francisco Fernández Chaves as a new Senior Research Fellow at the IEG for two months from July 15, 2024. During his stay with us in Mainz, Manuel Francisco Fernández Chaves will work on his research project "Seville and the Iberian Atlantic as a crossroad of merchants (1560-1610)".




Manuel Francisco Fernández Chaves is Professor of Modern History at the University of Seville.

On September 10, 16h, Manuel Francisco Fernández Chaves will speak at the public research colloquium of the IEG on: "Seville and the Iberian Atlantic as a crossroad of merchants (1560-1610)". Online participation is possible via Webex (see link below.) The event will be held in English.
