The IEG mourns the loss of Prof Dr Lothar Gall

The Leibniz Institute of European History (IEG) in Mainz mourns the death of Prof. Dr Lothar Gall, who passed away on 20 June 2024 at the age of 87. Lothar Gall was closely associated with the IEG for many years. He conducted research at the IEG as a scholarship holder from 1960 to 1962. From 1976 to 2005, he was a member and most recently Chairman of the Scientific Advisory Board. We honour his memory.
