Johannes Paulmann elected spokesperson for DFG Review Board 1.12 History

At the constituent meeting of Review Board 1.12 History of the German Research Foundation (DFG), Johannes Paulmann, Director of the IEG, was elected as its spokesperson. His deputies are Steffen Patzold (Eberhard-Karls-Universität Tübingen) and Anke Hilbrenner (Heinrich-Heine-Universität Düsseldorf).
We congratulate them on their election.

The review board comprises Medieval History, Early Modern History, Modern and Contemporary History (including Modern European History and Non-European History) and the History of Science. The review board members were elected in autumn 2023 in the DFG review board election for the term of office 2024 to 2028. They evaluate proposals to the DFG in a three-stage process consisting of review, evaluation and decision. They compare all the reviewed proposals submitted to them in order to identify the projects most worthy of funding within the given financial framework. The work of the review board members is voluntary and part of scientific self-administration.
